¿qué?

Right, this first one is basically a question for those familiar with Spanish cold meats and cheeses (random, I know), as I'm not sure my confusion/flabbergastedness/outrage is going to mean much to anyone else. (I'm actually rather sure you won't be giving a fig about it so... Well. Tough. Sorry.)

All right, the below fuet made its way to the house the other day and I was dead chuffed when I found it. Then I read the label:
¿Qué? Since when can one buy fuet (a typical Catalan sausage) stuffed (stuffed? injected with? flavoured? seasoned?) with queso cabrales (a typical Asturian blue cheese) curado en el Pirineo (matured in the Pyrenees)?
Where exactly in the Pyrenees? How did the cheese get there? I want to go and check that particular place out! (Plan was adding a map but it's late, I'm tired, cannot be arsed and probably no-one cares but me).
Who came up with this? When? Why? Is this normal? Is everyone back home eating this sort of aberration?
I.need.answers.
Anyway and swiftly moving on, we now find this other fellow living in my kitchen (pictured above).

I see a whimsical little headband-wearing orange triangular creature of sorts who seems to be nailing some edible sand/blob/play doh down with force and determination while swearing in pretty doodles to himself (?).
Again: ¿Qué?
Cute as the package is, I'm not sure what to do with it. Should I be brave enough to try it. Anyone?
Once more: I.need.answers.

Muchas gracias. Arigatou gozaimasu.

I hate...

...men showing décolleté (and a shaved chest)

(particularly first thing in the morning, while
I cycle to work and they jog in the park
gentlemen: really, no need to show sternum
that early (or ever), thank you very much )

are you fucking kidding me?

My colleague sent me this video today and it made me giggle. For obvious cliché-avoiding reasons I am not posting it on facebook but I'm sure it'll be doing the rounds there soon enough (if it hasn't yet, that is) getting her plenty of attention.

I didn't know this Ozzie artist at all so I'm not yet sure whether I like any of her other stuff. However, here's her webpage and her youtube channel so that everyone can check her out and decide for themselves.

Note: Of course the evil ex would be a pirate. Ninjas are cool. Ninjas rule.

once upon a time, there was this wee ninja...

...who came tucked in a assorted b-day pack from this missy here.
Even though this wee one immediately became a cherished possession, I was yet to find a function for this little ninja (it has been hanging prominently on the studio wall but other than that, nada). Now, it's finally found its hiding
place (very skilfully making itself invisible in a totally accomplished ninja manner... not) on the banner up there. Where is that ninja? Where is it, indeed?

Beware. Master of the stealth hug too. Kua-chaaiiiiiiii, d'woooooooo!!!

ninjas vs luchadores

Fab design by Michael Valadares Ferreira.

Unfortunately, the tee seems to be sold-out.
It would have been the perfect pressie for my Mexican friend G. I actually think I can see her behind that red mask brandishing a cactus as weapon.
I would, most probably, be the ninja sitting on the floor, totally knackered, hyperventilating and being climbed on by a dozen or so enmascarados.

nice one, buster!

I had totally forgotten all about summery outdoors cinema screenings. But, of course, it IS the summer and they are starting to pop up all over the city like every year.

Friends tipped us about "The General", a 1926 Buster Keaton film showing last Friday and it sounded like a plan... It definitely was. Fabulous comedic rhythm, old-fashioned (yet not that dated) plot, beautiful photography... Not to forget, a bunch of adults giggling (snorting with laughter on occasion) outside on a summer evening.
This are a few sneakily-taken shots of the massive inflatable screen. The first one against the summer sky above the park with the moon in the background (left, far, far away).

Note: The quality of the pics is rather drab 'cos I was trying to be inconspicuous and to not annoy other people with the glow of my camera (that's my excuse anyway).
Can you actually believe that silly mark on my feet, though? I reckon I tanned like that (by accident) two summers ago and I still haven't managed to get rid of it. They look pretty manky. They were not.

what a bulbiful calendar

For a bit more on the recurring onions theme extravaganza silliness on this blog, check the label called, well... onions, what else?

Note: Created by advertising agency Serviceplan of Munich for a knife brand by Wüsthof. Seen @ idsgn amongst many other superb winners (I particularly love the sound posters, the piggy bank and the hairdo business cards.)

righting a wrong

It has been brought to my attention that what was shown on this here post was not accurate. It seems someone knocked the composition while cleaning (which clearly rules me out, then) and it should have looked like this: the Pedrera perfectly perched atop the Sagrada Familia.

But of course. How very silly of me.
All right, now it's when I think I can hear Gaudí turning in his grave.

give or take

That's what it takes to wake up even though you've been up for ages.
However, I read sleep is overrated so one needn't worry much about it, right?

Note: Fab print by Steve Macks (found @ ffffound) minus the small bastardisation by yours truly. I hope no-one sues or anything.
